The Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award (Scooty) is a scheme under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme in Assam for 2024-25. The scheme is for students who meet the following criteria:
| ↪ They are residents of Assam |
| ↪ They are continuing their studies beyond 10+2 |
| ↪ They are not in the betterment or reappearance category |
| ↪ They are not dropouts |
The Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2024 is an initiative by the Assam government to empower students by providing scooties to meritorious students. Under this scheme, female students who achieve at least 60% in their 12th-grade board exams and male students who secure a minimum of 75% are eligible.
The scheme's distribution process is as follows:
| ↪ The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council collects a list of students |
| ↪ The Director of Higher Education notifies a list of Consignee Principals |
| ↪ Eligible students collect appreciation certificates from the Consignee Principal and submit them to the allotted dealer |
| ↪ The Consignee Principals receive the amount for scooter registration and insurance from the government |
| ↪ The Consignee Principals release the money to the dealer after verifying the beneficiary details |
| ↪ The students collect the scooter from the dealer |
